Well, I was very happy to see that yesterday we broke 80 new registered members for the first time. To be precise, 85 new members joined the PTO ranks yesterday! So far today, we have already had 81 new members join and we still have about 44 minutes to go.. ;)
Up until this point, we have had A LOT of 50's, 60's and lately 70's.. (New reg's per day) but the 80 #'s got my attention..

So, tonight I decided to check Google out and see where we stand with our links there. Guess what.. 51,100 links to PTO!! DAMN! Growing and Growing! This is a definite positive and I would have to attribute the increase in new members to the added number of links in Google, and all the other search engines that Google feeds.

This isn't a Freebie hand out.. This is PTO'ers hard work getting recognized! Thank god we don't have to pay for it though!

I still find it a bit amazing that when you type "Prison" into the search engine, we are listed on PAGE 11!! What BS! haha

Well, I would rather have 51,100 specific links to important areas than rank #1 with the term Prison ANY DAY! I guarantee everyone that we wouldn't have 1/1000th the traffic if that were the case.

You know, eventually... You will be able to type in any prison name, or other bit of information that you might want to know about (non-PTO visitors) and PTO will be right there at the top of the page, giving them the info they have been searching for.. :)

Here is the link to the Google Results. It will fluxate quite a bit as Google ads more links, and often drops old ones. I have seen us loose 10,000 links in a week, only to have 18,000 more added back the following.. It takes time to get this much stuff indexed in Google.

Oh, we're at 1,648 posts thus far today.. That is a new record.. :) Won't be long before we're breaking 100 new members a day and 2,000 posts!! Won't that be cool. ;)

I just refreshed and now we are at 53,000. Google must be updating all the links from its last "Dance"..

Well that pretty much sucks, but the rest of this is all totally cool! Between all that and (what I think in recent months has been a major increase in) word of mouth among inmates and among inmate families, I think we're at the point now where anyone who is in need of the kind of support there is to be had at PTO will find it readily and at their fingertips!

Which means PTO's doing exactly what it should do! YAY! :D

I'm in AWE that we will probably have 1,000 new members in just 15 days...Todays the 13th and we only need 130 some...

I had to laugh the other day when I was reading a sticky that Fed-X posted in May 2002 that read, "Our membership just exceeded 360 people but there are THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS more that could use our help."

How right you were! Thanks for creating PTO... I don't know where I'd be without it...

i was going blind in this world for a year without my husband till i found pto now i cant go a day without coming here and posting and trying to help someone. i have told my mom to come and anyone i know is going through the same things we are. i have the link for pto in my yahoo profile so anyone who looks in there will see it so ifanyone in the prison groups in yahoo looks into my profile they will see it.

Actually I think we may have our incarcerated loved ones to thank for quite a bit of that... it's been looking to me like a lot of the word getting around has been spread by those on the inside! Which is great! :)

Woooohooo...i do have to say though i have searched for certain prisons on yahoo.com and there is always something popping up with PTO in it.....so there ya go..

Well I think taht is wonderful! I am so excited to be a part of a huge family that cares for each other how we do!
