Yeah, I did too. I seen a ticker type thing at the top of the page when I frist went on the site tonight. They have raised somewhere around $2000 so far. I would imagine its legit. I wish I could help - woe is my pocketbook.:(

Yes, it is valid, it takes a lot to run a site like this, sometimes advertising just doesn't cover it. I think its a great idea, when I crawl all the way out of this hole, I am going to donate. For anyone who can not donate, don't feel bad. But if anyone can, I recommend that you do it. It ain't free being in cyber space. I feel I owe this site anyway, as much therapy I've gotten off it. Has anyone else been playing the arcade, it is addicting.

Yes. It's legitimate. They do have fundraisers periodically. It's an if you can, but don't feel bad if you can't basis. The site doesn't charge, but it's expensive to maintain and update.

Well I'm feeling like the red headed step child, again! I didn't get an email. I did see the banner on top though. I guess the guys in the know, know how difficult it is sending money out of Mexico and just passed me up!

FYI........if you do not have the box checked in your "user cp" under the option, Receive Emails from Administration, you will not get an email.

If you go to the main page and look in the PTO News, http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3589173#post3589173 you'll find a thread about the fund-raising. It's to defray the cost of new servers, because the site keeps growing and David has found that owning the servers is more efficient for the site than just leasing space. The ads take caare of the hosting day-to-day costs, but buying new servers is fairly expensive - it's running about 10,000+ this time.

You don't have to donate anything at all - don't feel pressured. The site will remain free to all, but if you can, it will be welcome.

I have donated in the past... this is a wonderful site, and I have no qualms about donating money when it's needed.
I had to send my by snail mail though.... but it will get to its destination soon enough! :)

Well, as soon as I get my new debit card (long story), I will be making my donation. When my hun first went in I was so scared and didn't have anyone to talk to. This site has been a lifesaver for me and I thank you PTO for being there when no one else was! Thank you!
