He hasn't been pen-placed as of yet and we are praying he'll be sent close to home. I'm sure I'll find tons of information and support at this site. My husband was in Kent Institution, but was killed this June in a full scale riot. I am really glad that I have found this site, I wish that I had found it sooner when he was still here beside me. My son was housed in Matsqui for over a year and is now in Drumheller in Alberta. They have had a few riots in the last few years and there is a lot of unrest there right now and it being run like a max. I remember reading about the Kent riot. Was an inquiry ever done? I know an mp asked for one but I never heard anything after that. I have been doing this with him for 10 years, he has been in and out, you thiink he would have learnt by now, but i still love him to death and we have a son together so hopefully this will be the last time.
