I'm not sure where to post this, so mods...if it belongs elsewhere, feel free to move it.

My man is in Pleasant Valley State Prison...and it SUX!!! He really wants an out-of-state transfer, somewhere that he can try to better himself, etc. He's put in requests, but the CCI and CCII's keep giving him the run around and told him that Sacremento is where the lists (for who gets the transfers) are generated. I know that there is overcrowding in Cali, and ppl are being transferred out of state....so how do we/I go about trying to get him on that list?! Is it possible even? Thanx!

I don't know the answer to this for sure, but it seems to me that if he is willing to transfer out of state AND he meets the requirements, then it follows that CDCr would put him on the list.

Perhaps you can contact the Ombudsman or even the PIO.

Ken Hurdle is the lead ombudsman. His email address is ken.hurdle@cdcr.ca.gov Or you can call his office at 916.445.1773.

The PIO (public information officer) at PVSP is listed as: Lt. Dana Allen at 559.935.4972

Good luck.

If he has any medical/mental problems - he is not eligible for transfer. I was told that by a man at CDCR Sacramento, because my son wanted to transfer out of CA too.
