Hello friends,

I know nothing of prison life or the prison system, for some reason when I thought of corrections officers I think... Kevin Bacon... UGH!

I received the first letter today from my son. I have to say that though he is very scared and frightened (He just arrived there Wed for intake), he tells of two corrections officers that have been very kind to him. Strict, yet kind.

He said the CO's explained things to him, about where he will be going, and how to get through it. He said they told him how to keep his nose clean, and how he can get one of the better jobs. Probably even be on a work crew. To take advantage of the things offered to him.. (Counseling, work programs, etc)... How to get through.

It sounds like things are rough at the intake process but I am very grateful that these two officers (I don't know your names) took the time to spend with him. You alleviated his fears to a certain degree and let him know what to expect, which I think is half the battle.

I am very thankful and grateful to you both... I hope you will be somehow blessed because of your kindness.

Thank you for caring. :)

Sincerely,

Jodi
