View Full Version : Menolly's from Ontario, Canada
Menally-Ill 08-10-2002, 01:52 PM But I'm sure everyone here knows that already.
Then again, there's always new members, aren't there?
Fear not, fellow Canucks. There are other Canadians on the site, but we (I!!) just kind of roam around all the forums, butting into any conversation that catches our (MY!!) interest.:D :D
Menolly
Hey Menolly.... I use to live in Vancoover when I was a kid, does that mean I can be a Canuck too? Or at least an honorary member? :fb: :fb:
Joy
Menally-Ill 08-11-2002, 11:20 AM JOY:
You are now officially crowned an honourary Canuck! Here's your toque and earmuffs. Oops, I mean tiara and ribbon.
Love,
Menolly
Valerie 08-11-2002, 12:15 PM My Mom is from Vancoover, does that count?
Menally-Ill 08-11-2002, 12:44 PM Sure, Val!
Toque and earmuffs for you too! Although Vancouverites would probably find a raincoatand umbrella more useful!
Love,
Menolly
Valerie 08-11-2002, 12:51 PM Thanks Menolly!!!
Shan & Kev 08-18-2002, 07:56 PM Just look at you handing out toques and earmuffs and here we were frying our "earmuffs" off in the plus 30 heat this past month!!!
Could you please hand me a cold one and hold onto my toque till at LEAST November :p
Shan
Rosebud 08-18-2002, 08:46 PM Hey, I wanna play too....I visited Ontario as a kid, does that count????
Menally-Ill 08-19-2002, 09:08 AM Shan:
SHHHH!!!
Don't let out the secret.
NOBODY ever invades Canada, or makes "war noises" because they THINK we're all living in ice-age conditions.
Isn't that the point of all the igloo and dogsled myths?
In the meantime, we're also sweltering over here in Ontario. So Shan, come down to the lake with me, and we'll have a lovely iced capuccino (commonly known as an "ice cap" again to play into the snow and igloo myths) and I'll bring bread to feed the Canada Geese, okay?
Just DON'T TELL ANYONE!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Love,
Menolly
Menally-Ill 08-19-2002, 09:12 AM Yeah, Rosebud, you can come play also.
Just, remember it's a secret! You must pretend that Canada is the place of hockey rinks and pucks.
Throw a few moose and beavers and snoeshoes into the story, and they'll never guess the truth. Oh, and don't forget the handsome red-coated Mountie on a horse. If you can locate a REAL Mountie, bring him down to the lake, also.
Yeah, all of that should keep us safe.
Love,
Menolly
B-Ray 08-19-2002, 10:13 AM Well Menolly, ya'll might have to do without the red-coated Mounties. There here at the California State Fair. LOL
Yep, I remember those heat waves in AK. Sucks, 60f was shorts and barefooted. :-)
Menally-Ill 08-19-2002, 10:16 AM Someone stole our Mounties?
I'm calling the United Nations! Maybe even filing a grievance in the International Court in The Hague!
Menolly
witchlinblue 08-19-2002, 03:52 PM hey we share our mounties cause they are so handsome dressed up like,,ummm, mounties !!!
When I lived in England, some came over for some big festival thing, and the english lasses went nuts on them. Not really sure why except maybe us Canadians look great in red ! Just an observation of course :)
Menally-Ill 08-19-2002, 04:20 PM Nah, it's the horses!
We figure any guy that can bounce up and down on two thousand pounds of power, and not grimace in pain (if you know what I mean...) has just GOT TO BE a REAL MAN!
Love,
Menolly
P.S: I once had such a crush on a guy in the Musical Ride. I went to University with him. I was a brilliant student, but whenever he walked into the class, my brain and all my joints just instantly became jello!
Musta been those JODPHURS!
Shan & Kev 08-20-2002, 11:52 AM Menolly,
I have always had that opinion about men who ride horses AND Harleys!!! I figured all that intense bouncing, jostling, heat and leather would make one fine callus right where it was needed the most.
I am having a day here..LOL
Shannon:D
witchlinblue 08-20-2002, 08:39 PM Well I know which forum I will be checking first each time, isn't Canada just so great, most of the time.
lifehouse 08-20-2002, 10:17 PM I'm married to one of those red coats. This statement might get me removed or ignored on this board. Would it help if I told you he used to be a Pastor and he is leaving hopefully within the next three months to go back into full time ministry.
I sure hope I won't be black listed for this. I really love the people here.
Budwoman 08-21-2002, 07:56 AM LIFEHOUSE
I AM NOT FROM CANADA BUT I JUST HAVE TO POST THIS ONE. THOSE RED COATS AS YOU GUYS CALL THEM ARE GREAT...... THEY DO A JOB AND DO IT WELL. SO VERY DIFFERENT FROM OUR POLICE OFFICERS HERE IN THE STATES... YOU KNOW THAT TOO.
NO, YOU WILL NEVER BE BARRED FROM THIS SITE...
ALSO, I KNOW YOU ARE PROUD THAT HE IS BECOMMING A MINISTER...
LOVE YA
DONNA
lifehouse 08-21-2002, 09:01 AM Hey Donna;
Thanks so much. You are so right, I can't wait until he leaves. Ministering is where his heart is. Also he was in Protective Services(looking after the Consulates from foriegn countries). He was dealing with terrorists and political activists. That makes me extra  he is leaving.
Menally-Ill 08-21-2002, 03:50 PM Oh My Goodness, LIGHTHOUSE!!!
I APOLOGIZE FULLY for our rambunctiousness here!
It is very hard at a site like this to keep things light sometimes. Everyone who comes here has huge worries and troubled hearts and terrified minds.
I work very hard to remind people to laugh, because I beleive that as long as we can still laugh, life hasn't beaten us yet!
My humour gets kind of infectious at times. So I will say the buck stops here, because I started this up, with my comments about Mounties.
I WOULD MAKE SURE that you do not get blacklisted, just for one innocent comment that is TRUE! There is absolutely no worry there, sweetie, I PROMISE!
I tend to go on and on about being Canadian, because I truly am megalomaniacly proud of being Canadian. Our Mounties, as has been pointed out already, have a reputation for being gentlemen and honourable "police officers". And yeah, they look DARNED FINE in their red serge!
I also know the troubles that some of the consulates have faced! WOW!!!
Again I FULLY APOLOGIZE for offending you! You tell your husband FROM ME, I am so glad he is who he is, and that the R.C.M.P. do the wonderful job that they do!
Love,
Menolly
Menally-Ill 08-21-2002, 03:53 PM P.S: I hope your husband's first name isn't Lance. If it is, sob, you got the guy from University that I would have married in a second!
Menolly
lifehouse 08-22-2002, 09:11 AM Hey Menolly you didn't offend me at all. I make fun of my husband being a Mountie all the time. Believe me I never pictured myself marrying one. The only reason I said I might be black-listed is because of the attitude some people here might have concerning cops. Believe me my husband was not born to be a cop. He loves people way too much. He still believes in the old out-dated "To Serve & Protect" , not to Bully & Intimidate. That's why he has to go back and do what he loves to do; love people.
Don't worry his name is not Lance :).
sherri13 08-22-2002, 09:17 AM Lifehouse- I for one think that one of the things that makes PTO great is the diverse group of people we have here-we all have at least one common link that brought us to the site in the first place-but we are from many different walks of life, whether it be our profession, our location, our upbringing, our spiritual beliefs, or just our perspectives. That is why I love to come to PTO--that, and the fact that we all respect and support each other regardless of our differences.
Menally-Ill 08-22-2002, 09:26 AM Oh Lifehouse;
Mixed feelings here... I'm glad you aren't mad at me, but I'd have loved to find out where Lance is, and does he still wear those jodphurs! HAHAHAHAHA!
I never even thought of the "her husband is a cop" angle. I so understand his change of career. Lance and I were in a criminal law class together. I probably dropped out of Law for all the same reasons your hubby's leaving the Mounties! Lance too was thinking about quitting last time I saw him. (Years ago, sniff!...)
Love,
Menolly
B-Ray 08-22-2002, 02:08 PM >>>sniff!...<<<
Gosh Menolly, how many pings that pang of what could have been, do you have girl?
dsdgirl 08-23-2002, 03:38 AM Sherri, well said. This group is fantastic and has certainly changed my life. Its so great to have the support. I love meeting people in the chats too. We have alot of laughs together. I am so grateful for this group. Respect and support....something we don't see much in our situations.
DSD
Menally-Ill 08-23-2002, 10:18 AM Bray;
