Hi
I'm working on an article for Mother Jones about the reentry program for inmates at Lansing, or the juvenile program in Wichita. If you know of anyone who is--or used to be--in the program, I'd love to find out what they think of it. Just trying to get the message out, as a reporter, about what systems actually DO work.
In case you don't know Mother Jones it is a lefty political magazine. We're doing an issue all about problems in prisons---which I don't need to tell you about!
Thanks for your help!

Advisory for PTO Members Regarding Requests from Journalists or Members of the Media:

PTO welcomes journalists and/or members of the media to learn and educate themselves about prisons, prisoners, and their loved ones.

We will, occasionally, allow the media to request information and personal stories from our members. However, PTO does not endorse any journalist, member of the media, story/report, or media outlet.

If you decide to communicate with a media representative, then you assume all of the risks involved. PTO is in no way liable for the outcome of the story/report. Communication with members of the media is completely voluntarily and PTO holds no responsibility for the consequences of that communication.

PTO does not screen or authenticate any person(s) claiming to be from the media, nor does PTO authenticate their motivations for obtaining the information.

As always, the disclosure of personal information (either yours or someone that is incarcerated) may have some serious repercussions. PTO has no way of predicting how the media will present your story or that of your loved one. Any relationship with the media is to be entered into at your own risk.

If you receive an unsolicited email or private message from a person claiming to be from the media, report it to the PTO Administration immediately.
