I have not heard from my daughter, she surrenderd to Carswell yesterday noon. I was thinking she should have been able to call her loved ones after being processed but we have heard nothing! Her 10 year old daughter is taking this very hard and wants to speak with her mommy. Does any one have suggestions on how to find out if she is OK are when she will be allowed to call home?

Mom,
It may take a couple of days. Generally the Chaplin allows one call home to let the family know they are fine. After that your daughter will have to purchase phone minutes. Does she have money on her books?? And it may depend on what day she is set for her commissary to get the things she needs to get started. When my mom went in she didnt get to call home for 7 days.. and it was a long 7 days. Her counselor was on vacation and couldnt get her phone list approved. Hopefully you will hear from her soon. Keep your chin up.

mom, my wifes counsler let her call the next day and it took about a week before she was finally able to call and about 2 to 3 weeks before she could email. That was at the camp. I understand how her daughter must feel i have a few children myself. Tell her to keep writing letters to her mom. It will help both of them. She can start that right away. You just need to know her register number. I hope this helps.
