My fiance calls at least 5 times a day just to let me know he's thinking about me and he didn't at all yesterday... To make a long story short, I just called the parole hotline and it says he's in Ventress. How long until they get to make a phonecall?
Also what are the pros and cons to Ventress? His classification officer at Kilby said he should do the 6 month Crime Bill... Anyone else dealing with that?

My hubby's at "The Vent" currently, and when he first got there, we had major problems dealing with the phone issues...If your number wasn't on his list before he transferred, then your gonna go through something in order to get the number approved, if its within the the six months of having a new phone list approved...

It seems like I'm the only one on here who has love ones at Ventress, because I never see any activity like the other Alabama prison threads... Being that he just got there you still may be able to go and see him on his visitation day if it hadn't passed. I've posted a visitation schedule for the 2008 year, the visits go by the first letter in their last name...

Yes they do use Globaltel Link and as far as the phone list, its just he has to have their permission to call a number, thats why he has to turn in a phone list. If he didn't have one at kilby then, ya'll shouldn't have any problems turning in one at ventress. And my husband has already completed his programs, we're waiting on our month which is very close for us to start our process for work release....

So your saying because your 18 that you can't visit him....

Yeah, I finally got to talk to him and it sucks so bad he can only call on weekends. That's ridiculous! Anyways, so you said your waiting to start your process for work release... I'm really hoping mine will make parole once he finishes a program... I hear that if you don't finish your program there then they'll reschedule a parole date. ugh, the whole deal there is ridiculous. He hates it. :-( He's in dorm B1-38B. How do they classify the dorms?

Don't know really... why does he only get to make phone calls only on weekends... My husband was in B dorm but got moved b/c they needed the space for guys who had to take SAP.. Does he have to take SAP? I don't understand why only weekend calls...My husbands calls me everyday, so this is why I don't understand only weekend calls...

Well that would be REALLY great if he can call on weekdays. Yeah, he has to take some kind of program. I'm not sure if it's SAP or what... He wrote his classification officer and is waiting on a responce. God, I hope he was mistaken about the weekend calls but what he told me is they only turn the phone and TELEVISION on on the weekends. I think that's a little ridiculous, personally. Especially since the facility is for medium and below... He will have to take some kind of program. Do you think that has something to do with it?

Right now he can call anytime he wants up till May 5th because that dorm is graduating and I guess getting some kind of privledges? I don't know... Ugh, I can't wait till this whole process is over. Oh and btw, you have no idea how good it makes me feel to have someone else on here that has someone in Ventress. Your a major help!!!!

Let me ask you something, is it b/c ur 18 that you can't see him, or is it some other statue... And if that is the case, you can't get someone to visit with you....

Yeah, it is because i'm 18 but he put in a request and he said that sometimes they do make exceptions. I'm hoping they will since I'm the mother of his child but he's not on the birth certificate so I don't know. I could probably get his aunt to come with me but she's kind of wacko if yo know what i mean lol. and i'm not sure if they'll even approve of that because it says if under 19 they have to be family member or some sort. :-(
