I just got back from visiting my husband who is in Dillwyn CC and my god they are so crappy with their visitation. Tried to take our visit cause he got po'd that a co asked him to stop playing with his daughter, he was basically tossing her in his lap, not inthe air. It is a sad state of affairs when a man can not even interact with his child cause of some power hungry co!

Coffeewood isn't much better. I just got back. They started kicking people out at 10. We not allowed in until after 830 which is when they're supposed to started taking us. We don't get back to visit until 9 or after and then our visits are cut short. In Mecklenburg we were allowed to hold hands during the visit. Now at CCC, which is a lower level we can't . Dress code varies from CO to CO and so do seating arrangements during the visits. The only thing I like better than MCC is the shorter drive, and all the prisons are better than Fairfax detention center. That place was a shit hole(sorry for the lang., but that's the only way to describe that place.) At least David can wear his wedding ring. I can't wait for the day we can celebrate our anniversary somewhere other than in a prison visiting room!
You and your hubby keep your chin up!
God Bless!

Thanks Cindy! Yeah when he was in Keen Mountain and its higher custody level we had more contact at visits then we do now that he is in a level 2 which makes no sense. I drive 900 miles and it pisses me off that they act the way they do sometimes. I will be glad when this mess is over and he can come home. I am also checking into getting an interstate compact and having him moved to Missouri. It will cost about 3000 but it would be worth it for all of us. I spend that in less then 2 years time going to visit him anyway. I just have to get everything approved and that is a mess lol, who would of guessed that it would be dealing with DOC haha.

Take care

Tereasa, I was interested in learning what you are doing for the interstate compact... I know Virginia requires the cost of transportation to be paid by the inmate, but Massachusetts told me know that I or Vic would not have to cover those costs, since he originated from Massachusetts. I can't believe how much that you will have to pay. Was he incarcerated originally in Virginia?

He was orginally incarcerated in VA but he is we lived here before that he got arrested and extradited to VA. When I spoke with the person from VA they said I would have to pay for the cost of first class airfare for my husband plus 2 guards, the guards airfare home and their wages for the time they are gone. Also there has to be an inmate in Missouri who is wanting to go to VA or would go there to be closer to their family and such. I am in the process now of doing the research and such to find out exactly how much it would cost but they told me between 3000 and 4000 should be expected. And my husband can only put in for the interstate compact at the time of his annual review and they have to have no charges for 1 year and be at a level 2 or lower to qualify. I am hoping it all works out but with the luck we have with the DOC I am not holding my breath.

Ummmmm...we'll have to look in to Southwest Airlines...they advertise the $99 air fares... Shoot for 3000-4000, you can rent a charter plane for half that and still pay the 2 guards salary!! LOL

ROFLMAO You are right but that is what they told me and my husband to expect to spend. Who knows but I am anxiously awaiting your help in guiding me on my quest to get this done so when you finish your appeal let me know so i can hear what all you did and how you went about things.

Thanks again
