Hello from the outside and a Newbie!
I'm hoping that someone on this forum can help me find some information on belt buckles made at an Idaho prison. These were handsome buckles crafted by inmates, the buckles were made of nickel and usually had an insert of a heavy plastic or enamel. Most of them were the larger "western" style of buckle. Mine came from the brother of my man who spent time maybe 20 to 25 years ago inside but I don't know which prison in Idaho. He won't talk much about any of that time and I'd really like to know more about the buckles, where they might have been made and if they still do this sort of thing. Evidently, they were allowed to make the buckles and then friends or family were allowed to sell them and then put the money on their books. It sounds like it was a good system and I wonder if they still do it? any help, ideas or info would surely be appreciated! Thanks, Vykkylou
