Ok, I guess this where I turn into ranting raving lunatic. I have a husband in the Morgan County Jail. We have to children a 6 year old and 3 year old. I live an hour away from the jail. I followed their rules and arrived at 12 for visitation. I then proceded to wait for an hour and fourty five minutes for my visitation time( with my 2 children). After 2 prople that were in line behind me went in for their visitation. I went and asked when was my time coming up. The lady told me thqat they only have one monitor for each cell block that I would not get to see him today. I replied so I drove an hour here and signed in by 12 like I was supposed to and I am stillnot going to get to see him. My 6 year old was in tears all she wanted was to see her Dad. I understand that these people are incarcerated that they have done something wrong but why are the families the ones who seem to be the ones who get punished. Not to mention that I could not leave his clothing he needed because it was visitation last week. I took it the next day after visitaion only to be told I couldn't leave it then becasue it had been more than 10 days. So a total of 6 hours wasted and 50 dollars worth of gas. I tried to find somewhere on the jail website to leave a suggestion or comment something to let them know that their SYSTEM is not working. Where are the checks and balances of this? How can they stand to know that someone followed their rules and still did not get to see whom they came for much less the fact that a 6 year old who was quiet and patient and waited for almost 2 hours which seems like an eternity was turned down to see her father? well I guess that about covers it. I mean I know I am wasting my time putting this on here but if there is anyone anywhere who could give me any suggestions please do so I am at my wits ends with that place and the only other option is not to go.
Serena maybe this will help or call and ask to speak to the sheriff and tell him what happened to you. 256-351-4800, 256-351-4801.

If this is their mission than they should do something about it!
It is the mission of the Morgan County Sheriff's Office to provide professional, responsive, and caring law enforcement services to the residents, visitors, and businesses of Morgan County. I am truly grateful for the men and women of the Morgan County Sheriff's Office as well as those from our partner agencies that we rely on each and every day to accomplish our mission.
It is my belief that Integrity is in the very foundation of ethics and shall be exhibited in every aspect of our professional and personal lives. This commitment entails much more than just adhering to the letter of the law or complying with a set of general orders. Integrity mandates that we incorporate honesty and fairness into the process of making even the smallest decisions. It is through our conduct that we earn the respect and trust of both our communities and of one another.
We shall never limit our preference to fit within the accepted standards set by those around us. Instead, we will work diligently and united to far exceed any and all expectations. We will continue to improve ourselves both professionally and personally through a combination of education, ingenuity and cooperation.
In closing, those of you who know me, know my dedication to my Office and to Morgan County. This is our home and we are very proud and privileged to live in such a caring community. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to serving the residents of Morgan County as your Sheriff.
You could try this e-mail address and if you had the person's name you spoke to at visitation it would help.

Just a little up date. I have not spoken to the sheriff. Just to let everyone know we did get to see him the next day after a 2hour wait. I called early Sunday morning to confirm visitaion time and sign in time. I asked do I need to be there early before 12 to sign in the officer(who's name I should have gotten) said no ma'am we do not taking sign in till 12. I got there at 11:30 anyway becasue of my previous days experience. There was 15 ppl already signed in the first one's sign in time was 11am. I would love to call the sheriff and complain or suggest changes but I fear that would only make things worse for me trying to see him or mail him and my loved one on the indside. I just pray for all this to be over and my family to be back together. Also just a little more he is not a trouble maker. He is very polite to the gaurds etc. SO I don't think it is anything like he is causing problems and they are punishing him.
Serena, you are right calling and complaining can make it hard on him and you. Believe me we have been there and done that. They have the upper hand in alot of these situations and they will use it to intimidate, which sucks. But I firmly believe in what comes around goes around. I'm glad you got to see him and hope things turn out well for you both and those precious babies.:)
