My Fiance is in the "L" building of Unit 29, I have called and they said there ARE phones in there...also, this is the transit(sp) building, he put in a sick call when he was CMRCF(Carroll Montgomery) and they sent him to Parchman? Not sure why, but they did. Anyway, the health services said he would only be in there up to 10 days, it has been more than 10 days and he is still in there. He finally wrote and said he was there, being punished, for putting in a sick call, I told him he wasnt being punished, he was being looked after. Anyone know if they would do that? i dont think they would, but he insist they are.....and he says there are NO phones, I was told there were. So are there any? The good thing is, he is finally getting his meds...that is what is most important to me!
So, does anyone know about the "L" building, anyone know if they have phones etc...I know he cant get visits, he said he wants me to send 20 dollars just in case he is there all month, but I am not because I am not sure how long he is going to be there and it is hard to get the money back!!

I saw on the site they moved him today, has to be another part of Unit 29, but not sure where, the time has changed on his, location change information. NOW I am just waiting on a call!!

My approved visits, from the other facility was transfered, I was worried about that, the phones are messed up, that is why he hasnt called....I am going to go see him Saturday...I cant wait...!!
I have been trying to research Unit 29, I see they have all types of offenders in there...does anyone know if they house, offenders, that are sentenced to life etc..violent offenders, with non-violent offenders?

It's all based on custody, but the short answer to your questions is yes.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe they are all messed up. I have put money on my Cell through Global Tel and from what I understand it doesnt stay until it is used up, that Global Tel will take the money after a certain period of time..which BITES!!!

Anyway tried to pull it up on internet but gives me the run around,saying domain is up for sale!?! Dunno he says its still GTenterprises but??? Anyway any info and help would be terrific!

I know its hard cause parchman is one of the worst places to be, but at least he isn't in unit 32. my bf is there and it is the unit that houses nothing but death row and serious offenders. it's the maximum security part of parchman. it kills me everyday to know he is in there. and the phones have been messed up lately. my bf has had a hard time getting thru to me. and i know they have been on lockdown for a little while because of some inmates trying to escape. just keep your head up...things will get better.

Thank you for responding...I am heard 32 was the worst, but also that 29 isnt somewhere you want to be either...Parchman period is aweful. From my PM I got, I heard "E" was better than I thought, I just wish I could hear his voice. I am going to call Friday, just in case something has went on during the week to mess up visits. I am hoping to see him Saturday!!

Slightly off topic but to answer your question..Canteen is not by zone but by classification in the State Runs.
