Just thought I'd see who all has someone close locked up there. I would like to keep in touch with people in the same situation, that way if something happens at the prison (like the recent happenings of SRCI and EOCI) we can all keep eachother updated about what we hear!

What do ya think?:)

My hubby is over at Two Rivers. I hate the thought of something happening there like at the other two. I am always looking on here when he is late calling, I like the idea of us all sharing that kind of information. I talk to my hubby every night so if anything happens I will be on here. Feel free to IM me or message me any time.
Blessings Always!

I talk to my guy almost every night as well, so I know I'll be quick to jump on here and update everyone!

Hopefully we can get more people together in this, so that we all get news from different sources.

I'm headed out there on the 19th [a 4 hour drive...what fun], and I keep telling him to stay in his cell till then so that if anything happens, he's in the clear. I just dread the thought of the violene spreading over that way because of the recent issues. I know he's told me they're all abuzz in his unit over the whole thing from SRCI... especially since a lot of their friends have been transferred there lately.

Also, feel free to msg me any time. I'm always down to chit-chat.

I have not been on here in awhile but can someone fill me in on the issues at the other prision that you are referring too????

My hubby is at Two Rivers and has been for a year now - Knock on wood, there has not been no problems. I know at Christmas time they were locked down (all of them) because of fights breaking out but a lot of that has to do with it just being the holiday. Since then it has settle down again.

Oh, there was a big ordeal at SRCI on Sunday. About 120 inmates in all. One ended up getting shot by a CO up in a guard tower. They're on lockdown still, and several guys had to go to the hospital. Then a few hours later, there was another big fight at EOCI involving about 50 more inmates. Scary stuff!! Here are some posts about it: http://prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328347

I try to always help keep people informed. My husband is at TRCI, too. He TRIES to avoid fights but lately he said it has been SO CLOSE! The other night a fight against 2 inmates broke out and they both went to the hole because they didn't immediately stop fighting when they were ordered to.

Yeah, tensions are high right now with all the fights that have been going on in the other prisons. It spreads like wildfire. I just hope nothing too big happens at TRCI anytime soon. I don't want my man going to the hole!

Still waiting!

I have someone at TRCI. He is in unit 7. He has been there for 2 weeks now. The medical care sucks. He thinks he broke his ankle playing basketball. 9 days ago he went to the doctor and they said they cant xray it until tuesday. they didn't get to him until wednesday for the xray. They gave him crutches that were taken away from him a few days later. It is now 9 days later and he still doesn't have an xray report and no crutches. That's horrible, I am so sorry that he has to go through that!

Mine is in Unit 14...

If you have his counselors number, I'd give him a call and see what you can do about speeding up this medical crap. Just because they're inmates doesn't mean they don't have rights!

That is inhumane! I am so sorry he is going through that. I thought they had to give them basic medical treatment in a timley manor. I'snt there a bord or some group that oversee's the right of prisoners? Does any one know?

Well, I was going to keep quiet on this because I don't know the facts of what they will do on dental care. But, seeing as how no-one else responded, I will try taking a shot in the dark --OUTOFSTATE MOM. I think they will let you put money in a special account for medical, like with when the guys need glasses. I would recommend you get ahold of someone in Salem overseeing the medical stuff and ask. I will look up the name and number of the person for you, and send it to you in a pm (private message).

What I learned from reading, if the guys want certain things done dentally, that are not covered, they may have to pay for them. So, yes you could put money on an account to get his teeth fixed, if it is services that DOC doesn't provide. I am sending the pm with the names of people to contact, and numbers.

hi, love my prisoner,my son is in unit 14 also,he seems to be doing fine,he call me twice aweek, and has not complain about anything,i know he been working everyday in the kitchen,so it's pretty hard for him to get into any trouble,i hope,he hasn't say anything about any lock down during christmas, maybe it was the other units that had the lock down, because i know he call me on christmas day,so it wasn't his unit who has the lock down.if you know of anything let me know, please

MY husband just got transferred there last week. I would love to have updates on whats going on there. He hasnt been able to call yet,so I dont know what unit hes on yet. do you know when he will be able to call?

grannyG

mermoz, I have never been to TRCI. However, when guys get moved, their info is updated within a couple days at the most, for them to be able to call. Do you have a cell phone number that he calls, or a home number? That could make the difference. Once you answer this question, we will be able to answer further, as to what might be the problem, as to why he hasn't called yet.

I will be visiting my sweetie in a few days~~~~
finally after over 2 years! I wonder if the new
style top will fly? Not really a tank top, about
2" wide 'sleeve', no cleavage. It's very dressy,
I wear it to work with skirts. So many tops have
little cap sleeves now, just wonder what any other
women have run into recently with visiting? The
'underarm' isn't covered, wonder if that matters?
As it will be over 100 degrees there I couldn't
imagine being made to wear a sweater over it!
I'll post when I get back, I'm very excited,
packing for 5 day trip but it's only overnight!
Haha! I always come prepared in case I have
to change my clothes. And I found a nice bra
that has no underwire! Target, around $13!
:jump::jump::jump::jump::kiss: Can't wait for that kiss!!!

Have a great visit 2lovebirds. At SRCI they allow tank tops as long as they are at least 2 inches wide, so you might get lucky.

Yes indeed, have a great visit, as we are sure you will. Yes, I pack about the same way, and it's only my brother I am going to visit - not my husband or boyfriend. Enjoy that kiss. And, as one luv says, the two inch is the requirement as far as I have ever read. However, I was required to change my shorts last summer at SRCI d/t the two inch rule, and they came within an inch of my knee. I had bought them specificly for visiting in, as I don't normally wear my shorts quite that long. So yes, have a change ready just in case. I now have shorts that cover my knees so that I can still wear shorts for visiting in.

My Guy is at TRCI also! I'll share anything I know, and would love the same in return.

Thanks!
