my hubby had. a second interview with a voting parole board member, i have never heard of this. his first parole visit was july18,03 and two weeks ago they called him back for a second interview? he is doing a 20 yr sent . non agg first offense, they stuck it to him as well as our whole family .he is at the price daniel unit snyder texas 435 miles one way away from me! has this ever happened to any one before?
I cant speak for how it's done for sure there, but it may be similar as here. We have a 3 man board and a 5 man board. If the 3 man cant reach a decision then the hearing is continued over to the 5 man board. Thay may be what happened to him. They couldn't make a decision so it was continued for further discussion. Good Luck

The first visit you describe would more likely have been the one with the Institutional Parole Officer, who works for the Parole Division. On rare occasion, members of the Board of Pardons and Paroles will go out to a unit and do a face-to-face interview.
The thing that is somewhat confusing is that Daniel Unit is an Amarillo first-vote, and I cannot picture Shipman (the Abilene member) going out to do an interview as the second voter.
My question then becomes one of whether it was actually a Board member that did the most recent interview or was it a follow-up by the Institutional Parole Officer (although that would be unusual albeit not unheard of at this late date)...

It is conceivable that he actually did meet with a Board member. The file is still in the voting process, and Shipman presently has the file for the second vote.
