O.K....I know that Blue Denim is not permitted, and Brown pants are not allowed either, but now I'm wondering about Tan pants?? I wonder if it's just Dark brown that's excluded, or all shades of brown/tan in general?

I guess I should just call down there. It's a pain to call though. They almost seem annoyed to answer any questions.

I just can't believe how hard they make this for everyone. I mean, I know there's a reason for all these regulations, but you think they would post a comprehensive list to their website of ALL the dos and don'ts so we don't go down there and then get rejected when they call our names.

I think that we should organize lists for all the prisons and jails and post them here and wherever else we can so that it might be easier for everyone to have access to their loved ones. What does everyone think? I would be willing to take charge and organize. I would need input from everyone on here and someone who could translate the information into Spanish when I'm done.

That's a good idea. I would have to agree, they almost take pleasure in rejecting people for visits. It's almost as if to say..."Ha, Ha, you drove 3 hours, and you're wearing clothing that's not permitted! You'll have to leave!" Next?!

I can start by adding....The ASPC-Safford-Tonto Unit, allows...

An initial hug, and brief kiss (although they allowed that to go on for longer than I expected they would...it was nice)

Hand holding only (no arms around each other)

No straddling picnic benches (only sitting with feet in front of you) They're fairly strict about this...I saw them correct quite a few people while I was there)

You must leave your purse/bag in your vehicle. They won't hold it for you, and you're not allowed to bring it in. You're only allowed a CLEAR plastic bag with quarters in it (up to $20).

I'm still unclear about what colors/types of clothing are permitted. Last time I wore black jeans and a burgandy shirt. No problems there. Maybe I'll just wear the same thing everytime...LOL! (sheesh!)

I've started the list. I'll add everything I can for the county jail facilities. I'll PM the people in the Arizona Forum and ask them personally for their input since I'm sure not everyone will read this thread.

I'm glad to see that the federal pen. let's you touch a little and hug and kiss at first. My man is in county for 30 days until he goes to the pen somewhere and we can't have any physical contact at all! Ugh, damn Joe Arpaio.

Didn't all that come with your visitors' application? Mine was something like 2 pages worth of what to wear, what not to wear and specifically said, "Don't wear "x clothing" or anything SIMILAR to "x clothing" or you will be asked to change."

Here is the link to the Arizona DOC site, the FAQ's specifically...this should answer all your questions! They have a great, informative site!

According to the ADOC Visitors Guidelines

Complete rules and regulations are listed in Arizona Dept of Corrections, Department Order 911, Inmate Visitation, which may be accessed through

www.adcprisoninfo.az.gov

According to that there is absolutly no brown, light brown, tan, or kahki colored clothing allowed at all. It also stated that there will be no clothing shorter than knee length (shorts or skirts), no slits higher than mid-thigh when seated, no spandex like material, no blue denim material or blue denim in color, nothing orange, nothing sleeveless at all, no tank tops of any sort, nothing lower than the collarbone, etc.

I hope this info helps you out. Good luck to you.

It's funny how helpful the DOC is and how County just wants to screw you. There are no regulations posted for County and sometimes something I've worn one day won't be acceptable the next day. Thank you Arpaio. :pissed:

Thanks for all the helpful DOC links. I can't wait until he gets transferred!! HUGS AND KISSES FOR HIM THEN!

Hugs and kisses for all you ladies too!! :)

Much love and respect ~ Heather
