Hello,
I am new here, and will be making my first visit this month to my loved one who is at the Hazelton camp.
Can anyone tell me what to expect? I understand the visiting room is pretty laid back? I'll be traveling from Michigan, it's 450 miles from here.
Any info or advice would really be appreciated!!
My Best to All,

Thanks for the good wishes Valentine. I haven't seen my loved one for 32 YEARS!!!! We reconnected last summer before he had to check in in October. We've melted a few hard drives on our computers (LOL), and now he has email access at Hazelton. I'll be visiting this month, just waiting to get approved, and moving down there probably in May or June at the latest. I'm so excited, just at the thought of holding his hand and being able to look in his eyes. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about! Any further info on visiting Hazelton camp is appreciated!

I have been visiting weekly at SFF Haz for over a year now. I have seen and heard it all. They rotate the staff between the SFF, camp, and pen, so my wife has seen most of the staff.
I can tell you that, on the whole, the staff at Hazelton is heads above most fed facilities. As a loved one, I would have little concern about the horrid internet stories that one hears about prison staff abuse. It is just not present at Hazelton. Not a siingle instance that I can report.
What many loose sight of is that the threat to our loved ones is more the criminals they live with each day. They are not in there because the put others above themselves in the past. Red sign, Red sign!!!! The major concern at Haz is not the threat from the COs, it is the utter ignorance of the fellow inmates.
Someone once told me that they have criminals in there!!!! DAH! Stupid is as stupid does, and some do not end the stupid even though in a fed pen.

Thanks Robert. I am excited, nervous, and just don't know what to expect. I haven't seen my guy in almost 33 years!! We reconnected last summer, and our romance picked up where it left off. To think I'll be able to touch him, hug him, kiss him ETC......Well, I just can't wait. We will be discussing me moving down there.
I will let you all know how it went when I come back!!
