First of all, Being that I am an Adult Correctional Officer in Hawaii... I feel that he should be placed in General Population adn just deal with his punishment. By placing him in P/C... he is recieving *special priviledges* which he should not recieve at all due to the severity of his crime. I currently work at Halawa Correctional Facility and I am posted in *special holdings*

Aloha. Welcome to PTO. I am familiar with where you work, as my Loved One is currently going through the system. This is a great support system for all who come to this website. I hope that you continue to post because yours will be another great perspective for us to consider.
Take care and God bless.

Being that I am an *ACO*, I also understand being on the *other-side*. I have a brother that was incarcerated here at Halawa for 10 years for attempted murder. Now that I am guard.. I learn a lot from my older brother and have heard the bad times that he had gone through while being in the system. I see life as a guard and as a prisoner and I have a greater understanding for those who go through the system and alo having the point of view of those who have loved ones in the system. Much Mahalo for the welcome =)

Sounds kinda like my family. We have the guys on one side of the law and then we have those family members who jokingly have suites in the prison named after them because they're "frequent flyers" (heeheehee...) But hey, when get one family luau, we're all just "da couzes" and hang out together, eating, drinking, talking story. When the party is over, we go our separate ways.

LOL.. yeah.. its kinda like the saying *lucky we live Hawaii*. For myself.. having family on the *other-side* has its good advantages.. and it bad.. in my family.. the bad elements surprisingly... help out by telling me what to be aware of and how to take care of myself.. the only problem is with Hawaii is that its soooo small.. working at a prison... you reunite with many people.. that you either knew while growing up.. or even.. used to hang out with... hence *lucky we live Hawaii*

Aloha chicky808, welcome to PTO. I'm glad to see that there are down to earth local girls here with us. Hi MsAloha, how u doing? We still gotta get together, ok. I may have seen you chicky on one of my visits to see my fiance. Maybe ya. He's done 10 at Halawa from 88, at 2 different stretches and is now at FDC waiting for sentencing. Anyway I've been there, done that tool and did 3 at WCCC, but I'm all good today. I think before I react, that way I stay out of trouble. You know what I mean? Any way my tita's check you guys later's. See ya, Aloha, Kaleilehua151

Aloha Kaleilehua! Thank u for the welcome! Actually, I am fairly new to being an ACO.. I just started 3 years ago. I have a cousin who is an ACO at FDC. I hear FDC is a better place to do time.. especially for those who are doing state time and are awaiting sentencing. It's good to know that people are able to *change ways*... It's hard staying outta trouble.. especially here in Hawaii.... much aloha to u

Hey, Kaleilehua and chicky808. YES, we must get together and do something. We ARE the Hawaii contingent of PTO, you know. I really think that this website is a good thing for those of us who support our loved ones who are incarcerated, for those who are inmates and outmates and for those who are working in the system. I remember when my Honey first went through, I didn't understand the rules and regs of each prison, so I would always get caught with my pants down, so to speak. There's got to be some way to get this info out to the families of inmates so that they don't have a rough time getting through the process.

Anyway, Kalei, let me know when you are available. Let's do lunch! I forgot where you work. Perhaps I can come meet you? I'm still over at the hospital. PM me.
