I have been convicted for grand theft and assault with a deadly weapon ( a BB gun) But what I am wanting to know is can I go to the canadian embassy and ask for there help on allowing me entry to canada? I tried to cross over into canada from detroit a few months ago for the second time I was denied entry and I was advised that if I attempted to enter again without the proper paperwork that I would be arrested for unlawful entry. I dont want this type of trouble and I have not been in any trouble since 1993. The reason I am wanting to go to canada is because I have a job seminar I need to attend in jan. I need to get this problem resolved before then so I dont have a problem when the time comes. I dont need the embarrasment from being denied entry in front of my boss and other emplyees.

Thanks for the help in advance directvthief.:argh

Yes, you can contact the consulate and ask for a ministers permit. Explain that this is for a job trainning. You will probably have to provide proof that this is the case. Once granted the minister's permit you should be ok to enter.
