Hello,
Me and my fiancee was currently schedule to get married on Oct 30 at 9:30 am he is in Arkansas and I am in Florida , I missed the wedding date because I had car trouble, now I cant go a day without thinking about it, anyways does anyone know about proxy marriages in Arkansas, we have all the info already at the court house, all I had to do was go and pick it up and take it with me on the marriage day, but is that paper enough for a proxy marriage, or do I have to get other forms, please let me if anyone knows anything, Thanks

Only Texas, Montana, and Colorado allow marriage by Proxy (which means the bride and groom are physically present in the presence of each other.) If you want to marry him, you need to go to Arkansas.
this web site will tell you Arkansas' Marriage laws http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/arkansas/index.shtml

I'm not a proxy expert by any means, but wouldn't she have to go to a state that allows proxy? Such as Texas, Montana or Colorado. I do know that you dont have to be a resident of these states, but I thought that you had to at least go there to get a proxy marriage.

Dl's Supawoman-Have you posted your proxy info in the wedding forum? I'm working on the marriage requirements for each state. We have a lot of proxy threads right now, but proxy is still something that isn't real clear to most. If you have good info on proxy I would love to hear it.
