View Full Version : Looking for some info
Amelia 03-21-2002, 01:37 AM Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Texas State JAil division...all I really know is that it is relatively new and you must do day for day no parole, and it is generally for probation violators and drug offenders...also I am looking for any and all info on SHOCK probation (one way to get early release from state jail) Stephen got the maximum 2 year sentence and I want to go into this wiht as much info as I can..Thanks!!
Shortie 03-21-2002, 08:24 PM Log on to the web site and get more info honey. www.tcdj.state.tx.us they tell you stuff about the system so check there and see what happens.
Amelia 04-03-2002, 10:29 PM I have checked out the site and it has general info..We heard that you only have to do 85% in state jail anyone know if this is true..can't get a straight answer out of anyone down here....Also how about sentenve reduction-is this an option and how do go about starting the wheels turning...I don't want to bombard our lawyer and I also want to let him know I am keeping one step ahead of him ( or so I like to think)..any info would be a great help

Shortie 05-09-2002, 08:56 PM well when i find out I will send it your way promise.
Elena 04-10-2003, 03:01 PM I looked into shock probabtion and was told that it would be better to do the time requested. I know there is a form that can be filled out by the inmate himself. We were planning on doing the shock probation and decided not to after all. i have an email that was sent to me by TDCJ, I will email to you.
~cheenna~ 04-10-2003, 06:43 PM Amelia ... don't know about the rest of your questions but I can tell you for a fact that he can parole out of State Jail because that is where Marcus, my Son is, and he has been granted parole, it won't be till Feb 04 after he completes a rehab program, but it's a lot better than 07!
cchilds3862 04-10-2003, 07:42 PM What about the sentence-reduction? Does anyone know about that? Is there a petition that need to be filed through the courts? I am interested in some info if anyone knows. Thanks! PEACE!
Elena 04-11-2003, 08:16 AM My husband has been incarcerated since 9-30-02. However he was given a release date for 1-28-04. Cheena how long has your son been in the system and how long did the process of parole take?
BillysAngel 04-13-2003, 01:40 AM Amelia
Don't know if you found the answers on this yet, but Shock Probation is something they give you to try to prevent you from going to prison in the 1st place. You can't get it after you have already been in... Billy had it long ago... And when you get out of any kind of prison here, the supervision is called Parole, not probation...

PsychicFriendzy 04-14-2003, 02:03 AM My husband got a ten year sentence with 180 days of it on shock probation. It was my understanding, and I hope I understood correctly, that he would do 180 days and if all went well, he would serve the rest on probation. They set him another court date for 6 months after he went in.
