Can anyone give me any tips on Disney? Stay in Disney or just outside? Food? Just stuff like that. I am in the begining stages of planning so I would like everyone's opinion - good and bad experiences.
Thanks

LOVED DISNEY, I have stayed in Disney and outside of Disney, I liked staying in Disney, it's easier, more hours, and pretty reasonable, last time I went was in 2005, and got the whole package including dining which, was around $3500 for five people. Just a little bit of advice, look at each map of the park and plan on what you want to see, once you are there you are so excited, you kind of go all over and miss alot of things. I found out when I planned it, I saw so much more, and didn't realized how much a missed out on when I didn't plan it and I've been going for at least ten years. Any questions feel free to PM me.

I must say that I loved Disneyland!! My parents took us there when I was young (from Oz) and I loved every minute of it!! We stayed in a motel outside of Disney (at the time it was cheaper to do so) and we bought all our food in there though, as we weren't sure of the rules about taking food in etc. I hope you have a wonderful trip!! :)

I am fortunate that I have family in the area so I don't have to use a hotel, but I can tell you a "not so good" and that is be ready to wait in line at Disney World. Also, Cinderalla's castle is not real :( I was so disappointed!

We have been going to DisneyWorld in Florida every summer for the last few years. The boys are just now getting to the age where they can take it all in. Even as an adult, each year I am amazed at how Disney can be magical for every age. We stay at resort each year, which is amazing. It's like being at home. Washer/dryer 2 bedroom/2 bath, full kitchen and living room. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! After being introduced to resorts a few years ago, I do not stay in hotels anymore, esp. if I have the kids w/ me. It's soo worth it to pay a little extra to get more luxury. And you can get resort deals pretty cheap as well.
If you have any questions, feel free to pm.
We are going back again this year in June. I can't wait!
Disneyland is better than Disneyworld, it doesn't seem to get as crowded.
1st time I went to disneyworld was 9/11/01. Park was shut down within the first hour we got there. Not Disney's fault obviously.
2nd time we went to Disneyworld was last year- we were there all day and maybe went on 3 rides. The lines were over an hour each. It was so crowded- I couldn't even push the stroller down main street without running into people. Just way too crowded! I went in March. So hopefully it's better in summer.
I prefer SeaWorld in San Diego.

The best time to go is early December, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when the crowds are very thin and the weather is at its nicest. Anytime before October it is HOT! and no fun at all. At least to me.
It's cheap to stay outside as there's motels galore, but staying at a Disney hotel is more special. My parents loved staying at the Polynesian Village which is the oldest hotel in the complex and the least expensive. It's Pacific kitschy, and a lot of fun, and of course every hotel looks brand new at Disney.
EPCOT shouldn't be missed, particularly the World Showcase which is like a world's fair. I really miss the good times I had there with loved ones now departed. Enjoy yourself and treasure the memories.
