I am not used to the facilities here in KS and I was just wondering if they are allowed to have TVs in their cells. I have not been able to find anything on this at all and I am trying to get as much info as I can so I am prepared when (fingers crossed) he gets transferred here. Any info on med/max facilities would be very very helpful. Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, inmates on incentive levels 2 and 3 are allowed to purchase TVs at the canteen. IMPP 12-120 (see the KDOC website) lists what property is allowed; IMPP 11-101 explains the incentive level system. Basically, once an inmate completes RDU they are assigned to incentive level 1. If they stay out of trouble for 120 days, they move to level 2, and after another 120 days they can move to level 3. At each higher level, they have more privileges and can purchase more items and spend more money. If they get in trouble, they can lose their level, and if they get busted to level 1 too many times, it takes longer to move back up.
