I just had a nice visit with my son at Norco. He said he may have an opportunity to transfer to MCCF in Kern County. Does anyone have information about this facility? He's not sure if he should transfer there or stay at Norco.
Thanks.

My son is there. It is much more relaxed then the CDC's. Visiting is also much easier. Unfortunately there is little to do.. No programs other than waiting list, No work, also long waiting list. Unable to send books. They have a library. Hard to read in an area of 80 in a dorm setting.. gets quite loud.. Makes reading hard. I feel it is much better to Rehabilitate......!!!!
other than house.. I have seen and heard it is much better than the overcrowded, three stacked current CDC problems. They just put in phones. My son called yesterday collect on my AT&T... I was excited to hear his voice.
I live in OC and would love to find someone to carpool with once a month. I can help with cost of Gas.
Being a mom.. I am very glad my son is in the Private Sector. We, I think are blessed. As so many others, terrible travesty of Justice.... For my son, as well as many others...It is a good place to be from what I have heard. AS I have experienced a lot of CDC. My oldest been in the system 10 years been from San Quentin, Corcoran..to many others. MCCF is a good place to be..Mom...
One real problem I have is, my son always brings enough punishment to himself..not having any way to make the mind work other than being with oneself.?. can be very hard.
Much luck to you and your son.
