Hello to you all. My dad has just started his sentence in Morgantown. Since my family is in Grafton, WV, he is able to get visits from my mom and brother. I have a quick question. I saw on this forum that there was a computer lab in the prision. Will he have access to email? I am in North Carolina, so it makes it hard to visit, (we are 425 miles away from him). I would appreciate anything that you all can give me, information wise.

It will take a while (days or a week or two) to get hooked up, but they have email.............
Nice to see they kept him local........... I lived in MGTN 5 years before I spent some time there

My friend is taking computer classes to learn the computer and they are setting him up with email. Can'
t wait. It will be a great way to communicate. Everything is monitored so watch what you write.

Yes the email thing is great!! It takes a lil bit sometimes for the messages to get processed, but you will get them. You cannot send pictures or attachments it is text only. But it is nice to have that as another means of communication. I have been a lazy pen pal lately and this way I can just pick up the laptop and send a message whenever I want and dont have to wait on snail mail. It does cost 5 cents a minute, but a phone call costs 24 cents a minute!!

They do have a computer lab. He has to ask his counselor about getting set up with an email account. It will cost him 5 cents a minute, but worth every penny. That way he can email as often as he wants. No pics just text, but a great way to keep in touch
