My husband called tonight. They've got notice that it's time for the package thing. He gave me the website. It's www.alabamapackages.com
I went to it. You can actually order onlline. Here are the deadlines they have listed:
First Date to place orders: March 10, 2008
Last day to place phone & web orders: April 25
Mail orders postmarked date: April 18
Date orders arrive at facilities: May 20-31
You can also order online, pay with your credit card and have it shipped. You choose the facility and they give you the appropriate items to choose from. It's fairly reasonably priced. My husband told me he has to submit some kind of form, get it okayed, and get it back before he can actually get the package. He is in the process of doing that before I order. If any of you are going to do that, you might want to check with your spouse and make sure they have the appropriate paperwork done on their end.
I've never done this before. There may be other companies that do this, I don't know. But this was the company listed on the paperwork that my husband saw. And since they have your specific prison listed, it's probably more likely not to be rejected. At least I hope so :D Anybody out there with experience in dealing with these "incentive" packages???
