I never considered riding Amtrak but that's something to think about. I normally drive to Fresno to visit family and then to the prison. I'm from 510

Hi. I'm from So Cal, but thought I would answer your other questions...

1. Visiting Process: Well, depends on which day you are visiting....IF you are visiting on Friday's, I would suggest to be outside of the prison no later than 12Noon, to be let on the grounds at 12:30. You will see the cars lined up off to the side. Walk up to the counter and get your number/pass to fill out and sometimes they can process fairly fast. Sometimes it is longer than usual. I am usually in by 1pm - 1:15 in the visiting room.

2. Lately, the Mail at CSP1 has been VERY slow due to alot of crap going on in there.........but it is starting to get a LITTLE better/faster.

3. Phone Calls: well, my man is in the Gym, and phone calls usually start around 9:45am and the calls end by 8:30pm.

4. A friend of mine "x'sgirl" on this site has been looking for someone to carpool with. She is from Napa. I don't know how far that is from you. So maybe if you wanna look her up too.

Hey wanderlust852. I live in Napa. I go right past Fresno. My trip takes 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours depending on how fast I am driving. I have made it in 3 lol. I try to go every other weekend. I would be more then willing to carpool. Just let me know. My boyfriend is in 3B right now but may get moved. Just let me know.

I have learned with dress codes that black is the easiest color to go with. I also learned the hard way that no underwire bras ;)

I'm in a holding pattern now because I'm waiting for him to be transpacked. I'm not sure what yard he's going to (he's a level 3) when he get's to CSP 1

I normally hang out in Fresno with my Mom in between visits, so I drive from the 510 to Fresno and then I go everyday.

What's the Saturday and Sunday visiting like? Ithought I read somewhere that the visit's are split in 3 hours time slots, is that the way it works?

My man's on 3B too - Where do you stay when you go down to visit? I've been thinking about not stopping in Fresno.
