Hey PTO!

Today, I called the Parole Boeard. I was told that my husband Chris has been granted parole. The gentleman, if you want to call him that was real short and I could tell he wanted off the phone and didn't want to be bothered w/ me. I tried to ask him what was next in the process of release. He was very rude and loud and just said "lady his parole officer will contact you in a couple of weeks". He babbled on and said they have all the infomation needed. All I wanted to tell him was that we had a new home # since the previous investigation calls back 7 or 8 mos. ago. Man, I guess they really hate their job. What attitudes. He did babble something about his residence plan. What all does this mean? I've already given them our home address.

I did call the telephone # that has the recording. It said his TPM is 10/03. Does this mean that he could be home for the holidays? How long usually does it take for all the paper work and etc. to be done? Could some of the members tell me what's next?

Let me know!

Thanks in advance!

If you havent already heard from the Parole officer by now, when you do, they will discuss the residence plan and when that is in place they will fax it downtown. The turn around time is about 3 weeks.
Good Luck and God bless, you are almost there!

Have you heard any thing yet? I'm curious how this process works. I have about 12 months to go but I just want to know what to expect.

I got home Thursday and a parole officer had put his card on the door. He asked me to call him. I left him a message on Friday morning. He called wanting to verify the following:

Was I letting my husband come back to my address?

Was I aware that he will need to get in an alcohol and drug treatment program?

How many lived at our address?

Did we rent or own?

The conversation was quite pleasant. I mentioned that I was already in an alcohol & drug program. I explained that I wanted to be clean on his arrival back home. I felt like I needed to quit drinking also. He said he would fax the paper work downtown. What's next????

The only thing that's got me confused is....Chris has a "HOLD" on him for Gwinnett County. He was on probation when he got this last DUI. I called his probation officer to see if he still wanted him. Of course, he said yes. That he will have Chris picked up and brought back to Gwinnett for probation violation. Chris would be off probation in july 2004. I would have thought that spending over a year in the state sytem would take care of any other charges.

What's next??? How long now will it take for Gwinnett to pick him up? Is theis paper work process almost over?

Let me know what you think. Keep your faith GIRL!

Allison,

I may be wrong since I am new to this system (except Delaware) also. I think he goes straight from where he is to Gwinnett to face the violation of probation charges. I know someone who spent about 3 months at Gwinnett, then 3 months at at the Carlton C. Colwell Boot Camp (Blairsville) for violating probation, but every case is probably different and the person I know made a major violation involving firearms.
