My wife went to Southeast DCC last week. I got a call from the Assistant Warden Tuesday saying that when they did count Tuesday morning my wife was unresponsive so they checked and she was not breathing...she had CODED! They took her to Jefferson Hopital the ER Dr said she had Jail Itus??? Sent her back. She started seizing and had to be taken back to
ER they have put a central line in her neck to give her anti seizure meds and have sent her back to that hell whole in Pine Bluff. Is there anything I can do to get her medical attention? She was on a ankle monitor for 9 months. Someone said she could have that filed as time served and not have to do the 12 months @ DCC...help me with anything,,,advice...information...prayer...someone to call and talk to...complain to...file suit against...:angry::angry:

Thanks Kitty...I did reply and offer some suggestions. Difficult situation dealing with someone who is sick in there. We continue to deal with those situations, although for the moment they are a bit more stable. It is pretty much the luck of the draw with health care. It takes a long time to make changes and get tests, etc. There are some really good Dr's and nurses who care and some who are just putting in their time. I guess we could say the same for the outside world. He just needs to keep her name in front of the folks at Pine Bluff. I know that they are sick of our family by now.

Does Arkansas have an Ombudsman you could contact? Or a Medical Reciever? Have you called the Warden and the Asst Warden? You need to make a nuisance of yourself until someone hears you. Document everything. Who you talked to, what they said, and the time and date. You may also be able to ask her original attorney for advice.

Good luck, I'll keep your family in my prayers.

My only advice is to get in the ear of a state legislator. Call or email all of your sate reps and tell them what you told us.

Good luck to you. Hope your wife is doing better.

LAT is right, get on your representatives. Then call the head of your states prison medical. File a complaint. Then call the hospital that sent her back the first time and file a complaint.
Then call her original attorney and see if the gps monitoring can be used for time served.
I am so sorry. I know how you must feel. I went through it with my husband when he was inside. Hang in there. Let us know how she is doing!

I am so sorry to hear that your wife is so sick. Have you been able to find out if she is any better? Are they providing you with any information at the prison? Can you call the warden? The prison infirmary? Her lawyer? If you need additional letters or need someone else to call, never hesitate to PM me and I will call as well. Stay on top of them. Its always the squeeky wheel that gets the oil.

Have you been able to get any answers from anyone? I have to agree with the whole list above for contacts. I would email all that I could and follow up with letters sent in the mail. If you have to, send the letters certified. I know that cost money but you would know who signed or when it was received.
Keeping you all in my prayers!!!

Besides all the suggestions above, try jeffdicks.org - Jeff died in prison for lack of medical care, so the organization works on just this kind of thing.
