Hello Red Eagle families & loved ones!

We could use your help in getting some updated info on visitation and other information on this facility.

As you have probably noticed, at this time we literally have nothing but contact info - the prison's address, phone number, and warden's name - in our sticky for this facility.

What we would LIKE to have for this facility someday soon is something along the lines of this sticky for St. Clair:

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182547

... especially specifically:

- Visitation Hours (or a general idea of how their schedule runs)

- Visitation Rules (especially if there are some major differences from what you see there at St. Clair)

- Whether or not they have a segregation unit ("the hole")

- Rules for inbound and outbound mail (limits on pages of letter, envelopes, pics, etc., and how mail to the inmate should be addressed)

- What can be sent in or out through the mail (especially books, paper, envelopes, pens, etc.)

- Can they have stamps sent in, and how many and how often

- Whether there's any difference in the procedure for sending money orders in

- And any other info you think would be helpful along all these same lines.

Pretty much most of the rest, like general stats about the prison, we have access to, but we could really use your help in getting some information together for this facility much like the one in the link above to St. Clair.

So please let us know if things are pretty much the same at your facility, or if there's differences and what they are. Feel free to just add to this post as needed if you can help!

Thank you!

Our son was moved to Red Eagle Honor Farm today. He called to let us know. That was pretty quick considering he was delivered to Kilby 4/10/08 - went through medical in one week and played volleyball for a week until the ball landed on the roof! :) When he called he gave his fiance a list of things he could have ie. white jeans, white shirts, white hat, white undies, white towels, white sheets, black belt, white socks - they must use much bleach! Also, I called and he can have 4 visitors at a time pre approved, so we will fly down Memorial Day weekend assuming we are approved. He had to get our SS#'s and birthdays. By the way when I called I found out he is allowed a care package within 10 days of his arrival and not counting Sundays. Plus, they accept UPS packages so we will next day air his care package to him once I get all the goodies together! Visitation is every Sunday - 8-12 Noon. 8 visitors are allowed - 4 at a time. I will get more info for you as I learn it. If anyone really understands what this so called "honor farm" is like and what it really means, please let me know. Thx much! :)

Okay went to Red Eagle on Mother's Day for visitation she is correct visitation is on Sunday's from 8a-12p and they mean 12p lol

You can't wear jewelry you can bring change with you but it has to be change so you can get the guys something out of the vending machine's (but YOU have to put the money in the machines)

No flip Flops, No Shorts has to be longer than your knee's they sent one woman back. No tank tops or anything with shoulders showing. You can go outside on picnic tables but you have to face them no straddling the benches..

They can get M.O. just make sure name and their number is on there

Umm not sure what else I can think of off the top of my head if you need to know anything else just ask and I will find out. - Steph

Oh just saw the part about stamps you can send in stamps with their mail that you sent them how much I am not sure I sent a book to my man and he was able to keep it.

I sent him a card he got it, don't believe they can get the magazines and book unless it was sent by the company themselves.
