Does anyone know what happens on the day a person has to leave the country? My brother is being deported and his hearing is in 2 weeks. I am in the process of getting his passport information and everything together. Does he go to the airport in cuffs? Can we go and say goodbye? If anyone can answer these questions I would be really greatful. THanks

HE will be taken to the airport in cuffs and put on the plane by the officers. The will remove his cuffs on the plane to ensure he is on it when it takes off. As for saying goodbye, I am not sure. I would contact the facility he is at and ask them if you can see him at the airport. I will assume that they will probably allow this.

His hearing is this week. I've stopped trying to look into if he can stay and look into all the beneifits that he will receive when he returns to Scotland. The have a great program called Prisioners Abroad. If you have family being deported to the UK look into this charity. you can read more about them at http://www.prisonersabroad.org. Check it out I recommend it. Thanks for all your thoughts and I will keep you posted.
