what can you do if you have a complaint against a jailer? this is a county jail and im just a mom

what happened? are there witnesses? does the person responsible for this activity have a record of like activity? if physical harm was inflicted do you have pictures to prove it?

there was no physical harm yet anyway , he has only been in a few days. The person is known to our family for over 20 yrs before my son was born. There has always been bad feelings. I believe what was said was said to othr prisoners. The person implies that they are going to get him, now maybe they mean they are going to make sure he goes to prison Ive not visited with him yet only by phone. My son has not gone to court yet. i will tell you this is a new jail ,in the old jail under a different sheriff there were numerous deaths of native american prisoners this occured in the 90s.so no i do not trust.

Hun I wished I knew what to say but I have no experience with this. I will say a prayer for your son and yoou to make it safely through this.

PS if you donmt mind what part of Ok are you in? I am in the city!

Thank you both.Mommahen I dont know how to write you privately and am afraid to tell you where this is located as I may have said too much or given too much info already. I just dont know if a complaint would do any good or is it better to keep your mouth shut? all I know is that the person has it in for my son and how much worse can they make things on him I dont know. My heart goes out to all the families of prisoners I know they suffer too.

I'm not sure if there is anything I can do But if you want to explain a little more so we/I know whats going on just Yell. If he fells he is in danger he can get put in protective custody.

I think he can file a grievance. Not possitive of this but when you do see him you might ask. Or contact the sheriff and explain the circumstances without giving any names and see what he tells you can be done or what to do. Best of luck to you. Will be praying for you. I too am a mother as my daughter went to prison 11 years ago for 1 year. She has now applied for a pardon and I was told yesterday that she will be on the Dec. docket.

Well Talked to someone and they say it is a high tech place , cameras all over So i dont think any physical harm would happen but Im pretty sure that the person could do things to make him upset and i just hope he can handle it and keep his cool. I do know that some people have told me that they may not give you a blanket and other minor things just to aggravate I guess.He says they arent feeding him very good and I dont know if they are giving him less than the others or not. I told him to document everything but you never know what you can do and keep yourself out of any added problems. Thanks again for all your replies. This site , who ever created it is a God send for all of us and I sure hope they know that it is so appreciated.

aNOTHER THING HE CAN DO TO KEEP HIS COOL IS GO/ASK FOR MEDICAL TELL THEM HE'S DEPRESS AND NEED A MED. TELL THEM HE WAS ON A MED BEFORE HE CAME IN. mY SON TAKES DOCIXPEN. HELP'S KEEP HIM COOL AND SLEEP AT NIGHT.

Im going to try as he did take meds but has been off them for yrs. I will be visiting him next week and maybe i will know more. he called but it cost so much that i told him to try not to. They make the money dont they. Thanks again . Thanks to everyone.

Just want to let you all know that I did go see him and he is ok but his spirits were down , guess when they are feeling down so do you and I have been trying to keep myself on track. Still I know the only way to really help him is getting the right attorney and like lots of us thats not always an option. He says that jailer just yells at him thats all at this point.
