My penpal asked me to research government land for sale at $1 an acre so he can buy it when he gets out. I could only find a website that seemed hokey. I never heard of such a thing and don't really think this exists.

That's what I told him. He is very gullible, already lost $40 to a penpal scam by answering an ad.

He read some ads in a magazine and has his heart set on getting this land when he is out and living on his disability checks.

The only thing on the net I've found is government land auctions and one site that requires you send them $20 for a packet which I would never do. I am sure if I sent that to him, he would fall for it.
