How much time can someone get for this? The violation is not reporting to his PO and not doing community services.

Violating probation can be punished with up to 2yrs imprisonment. Though such a sentence is doubtful, there can be jail time and/or increased conditions. And you have listed 2 violations (not reporting and not doing community service) which would result in 2 separate charges.

You said this could result in up to 2 yrs imprisonment. I know anything over 2 yrs will be in prison, but anything 2 yrs, less a day will be jail. The prison part scared the hell out of me....could 2 separate charges of violating probation and not doing his community services result in prison time instead of a provincial jail???

It is very rare breaches of probation result in a 2 year sentence, however, provincial jail sentences (2yrs. less) are quite common. If imprisonment is imposed, it would likely be jail time. It's not uncommon for people to be imprisoned for 30-90 days for such breaches.
