Hi everyone,

My brother has just been classified as a Level 2 and I was looking for suggestions on Level 2 facilities in the Central or Eastern regions so he has something to go on when he puts in his requests. Right now he is in Mecklenburg which is about an hour and a half drive (we live in Richmond.) He has 3 small children who really benefit from the weekly visitations so location is important, but not a main concern. He's looking for somewhere that offers GED classes and/or skilled trades as well.

Lunenburg Correctional Center is in Victoria, VA...down the road from the Mecklenburg facility actually. It is level two and offers GED/skilled trades and classes through Southside Virginia Community College.

Lunenburg CC is down the road from the Nottoway Correctional Center which is on 360. If you turn left onto Rte 723 (from Richmond) and follow it to the end it dead ends at Lunenburg CC.

Good luck with his request. My son has 4 little girls he hasn't seen in 8 months and has another 2 years to go. They sent him all the way to Michigan to pull his time. His request was never heard I don't believe.
