Hubby transferred here and I really don't know anything about Ventress and all of the threads seem kind of old, like no one is here in PTO, so whats going on. Is this prison dead like the Ventress thread... Anyone who wants to feel a newby in about ANYTHING, please feel free to voice it, because I really need and want to know... Thank you in advance..

Jonivea, My son was at Ventress. He came home July 9. If your husband has to be in a facility, Ventress is one of the better from what I understand. My son never had any problems there. He was in four different dorms while he was there. The last was the Honors Dorm. He pretty much just stuck with a few guys and stayed to himself. The visitation was ok. The CO's were nice to us when we went, but we never gave them any reason not to be. The line to get in is pretty long so get there early. Hope some of this helps. I'm newer than you are to this site. My stepson is currently at Kilby and soon to be transferred to Ventress. Can you please give my wife and I any updated information as to what to expect when we go to visit? This whole scene is new to us and we are really in the dark.

Well i don't know exactly what it is that you would like to know, so ANY questions that you may have, don't hesitate to ask and if I have the info, I will relay it to you. As far as with the visits theres no jewelry or anything like that to be worn, for what my husband tells me the food is TERRIBLE, so keep money on his books so he can buy himself food out of the store. Tell to not borrow things from other inmates because if he's new to the system, they will recognize that. Tell him to stay to himself much as possible. Even the guards/co's will try crazy stuff, just to taunt the inmates.. sooo stay clear of them to... Any other questions, just pm(private message) me....Oh the people there are very helpful, so if you have any questions just call them.. Do you know how to get to Ventress? Mapquest gives some crazy directions, the first time they had me in the woods going I don't know where... So if you need some directions, I'll try my best to help with those also.
