I know Jonathan has posted info. about inmate phones, but I can't read those documents, even with the latest version of Adobe.

I'm just trying to find out an estimate for the cost of my friend at Parchman calling me collect in TX. I've been on hold forever twice with Global Tel Link and can't manage to talk to an actual human being. Aaargh!

My friend says he can only make collect calls. I can handle that but before he calls, I need some idea of what it might cost for him to call me here in TX.

Can anybody help me?

Breathe my friend breathe! I understand your frustration! From talking to others about the cost it should be about the same as mine. They charge about $6.95 a month to have the service,then calls are around $1.00 a min plus tax = $6.95~$7.00 a call. I've had a problem recieving calls ever since I bundled my services thru Comcast. When I had Verizon had no problems. Now every once in awhile when he calls it'll say I've got a block on the phone. Since I pay my bill early I can only assume Comcast isn't sending on the money due Global tel. Sending you a pm also

I live on the west coast and my guy is also at Parchman. His weekly calls run me on average about $16.00 a call. Hope that helps. If you need any other info PM me. Since getting involved with my guy, I've made a lot of calls on his behalf and spoken to quite a few folks down there. Many of the old policies in Unit 32 are slowly changing.

My calls from MS prison collect are through Globel Tel but on my AT&T bill each month and they average about a dollar a minute BUT on another section of the bill they charge for using this service and that usually is about 5.95 a month. That charge is ONLY there IF I have calls from the prison that month...I never did anything to have to set anything up.
I know this cost is ridiculous and now they can talk 20 minutes and of course we talk the entire 20 minutes...SMILE!!

I am out of state and calls have been about $15.35 for 15 minutes, prepay.

Young lady, make sure you can afford one fifteen minute phone call, have him call, and then wait for the bill. He needs phone calls. Once you have an idea of what it costs from the bill, you can decide how often to let him call.
