Does anyone know if filing a false domestic report a felony.My friend's reported her boyfriend for a domestic she says she still loves him and told the police the next day that he wasnt the one who abused her but it was to late they has already got in contact with his parole officer and now he is on the run he only had 2 weeks lefton parole i have been trying to get info for her on this and i have not had any luck so if anyone help i would really appretate it thanks

:shrug: I have serious doubts that they will recognize it as a false report if they have taken the report, the pictures or any evidence.

Most of the time, filing a false report is classed as a misdemeanor, though I think it CAN be a felony matter- but then Perjury is also a crime.
I get the impression from the way you wrote this that your friend WAS abused by the boyfriend and she just lied the next day in a misguided effort to save him from the results of his behavior.... The State can go forward with or without her testimony, but she truly must not excuse his violence.

He's in a world of hurt - he has now absconded and it sounds like it he did hit her. The best thing she can do is not add to the mess, and stick with the truth. Police agencies can start to get really pissy if you jerk them around.
