I was approved for family visit in CTF Soledad, they said this let you stay for three days two nights with the inmate your visiting, its only on Wednesdays, the prison provides trailers or apartment for you to stay.

I am wondering who among you ladies have tried family visit before and how is it?

Hi!
I never had a family visit there but...when I use to visit there...I visited at South Yard. It was across from the Family Visiting area. They are cute little houses. With swings for the children. You park you car right in front of where you will be. I heard the have micro wave ovens to prepare your meals.
Enjoy your visit....

I've had family visits at Mule Creek, but I don't know how much the same they are.
I'm happy to answer any questions. I'm guessing that most of it is the same.

Our family does family visits at CTF Soledad and they are the best!!!! You check in on Wed. before 11am and check out at noon on Friday. The apts. are 2 bedrooms, with kitchen, living room and bathroom. They are furnished with 2 beds in each bedroom and a baby crib. The living area has 2 love seats, a coffee table, tv and a radio. The kitchen has stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, plates , bowls, cups, plastic glasses, forks, spoons (no knives) and dining table and chairs. It really was more than i expected on my first visit. Oh! and other than count, when the inmate must go to the door at 4:45 am - 8:00am - Noon
4:30pm - 8:30 pm and 11:00pm, they leave you alone and don't bother. It's just wonderful for keeping families together. If there is anything you want to know that I didn't mention I'd be happy to inform you.

What am i allowed to bring during family visit? I can't drive yet so i figured i might need a friend drop me off to soledad if i dont get a carpool from the ladies here, im wondering where should i be dropped off and how the whole check-in process goes. Then Friday, when i leave, i might just have to call a cab to take me to the bus station going home. I haven't done this before, could you please give me some directions? I am three hours away from soledad and im new in the whole system. Part from this im also wondering if i can bring some papers for my husband to sign, we're selling some stuff and i need his signature, am i allowed to bring paperwork?

You are allowed only one piece of luggage, so you'll need it to be large enough for your things. You can only take in your clothes (visiting approved) same as regular visiting. No blue or black demin, no blue in anything for that matter. You can take wash cloths, hand towels,( they supply bath towels) bar soap, dish soap, toothpaste, deoderant ect. but all must be in see through containers and must not contain alcohol. They supply all the bedding. You can take in games to play if you'd like, however not games that have dice. You cannot take in any papers to be signed, that all has to be done through the mail.Your person should be able to send you a paper on all the do's and dont's for family visiting. I'm 3 hours away also, I'm in Santa Rosa. Hope I've helped alittle

Hello!! I just stumbled upon this website today. My bubby is in Soledad. They seemed to be pretty slow at getting the regular visiting forms processed in, about 2-3 months. But we just got our family visit about a few weeks ago. Basically once he got the family visting form, menu, and all required documents sent in they were pretty quick about setting a date for us, about a month. My hubby said the hard part is just getting ahold of the forms. If they are taking too long to process your family visiting form then I would call them to make sure they receivied everything. Their phone # 831-678-3951. I hope I helped a little bit. Good luck!!

Has anyone had a family visit at the CTF Soledad?
I am a soon to be wife and I am looking forward soooooooooooooooooo much to spend the quality time with my hubbie!!
I heard that CTF allows family visits every 30 days~ yeah~!!
Anyways, can we request for the visit to be on the certain month and week? or they set the specific date when I can go in for the family visit..?
I know its gotta be on Weds, Thursday and Friday.. So, I will have to turn in the vacation request to my work..It will be definitely difficult for me to get 3 days off at the last moment.. so.. I hope that we can at least find out "WHEN" a month before hand..
Any info will be very very appreciated ^o^
Thank you~

Your Husband will pick the date and family visiting will send you papers to fill out, sign and send back. You'll have plenty of time to put in for your time off. Family visits are every 30 days, but you rarely can get them that often due to the number of inmates that sign up.
If my son signs up right after leaving a family visit it usually takes about 6 weeks to get the next one. Hope i've helped.

Is anyone not allowed a family visit at CTF-Soledad? Does it depend on points, etc.? Anyone been denied one?

I really don't know who can or can't have family visits, other than lifers. They can't , and i will never understand that! They have families too, and need the visits even more than someone who has an outdate.

You have either be married, or be an immediate relative (mother, father, sibling or grandparent). Certain inmates are also not allowed family visits, but I'm afraid I don't know the exact categories. Lifers are not (unless they have been granted an outdate from the parole board), and most inmates who are in on domestic violence charges are also not allowed family visits. Beyond that I'm not exactly sure, but I'm sure you can look it up in the Title 15. My loved one is a lifer so frankly I've never paid too much attention to the details since we can't have them.

They are not traliers, more like apartments
No movies
You can bring make-up, I think (I only use lip gloss), but nothing in glass containers
You can bring condoms
When I asked about blankets, they said no
They provide all kitchenware, but you may bring dishwashing liquid and a sponge
Oh, believe me, he will hear them and wake up...they knock pretty hard!
No specific kid channels...sorry

I'm a pretty hard sleeper and although I hear the knocking, it's not too disturbing. If you put the baby in the extra bedroom and close the door, it might not be too bad. There is a little yard and you can go out during the day, but at night I think you have to be inside. But don't worry about anything, you'll have a blast!!!
