next month i will be spending 3months in harris county. i only spent 2 days in there before i was bonded out,so i never made it to a tank (except for holding tanks). i was hopeing someone who has been recently could give me pointers or advice...how things work...i know the officers are assholes and dont tell you shit & when i was in the medical holding tank some older women were in there saying how they thought it was funny that "newbies" and youngsters didnt know what to do and the officers would throw their belongings off their bunk or across the tank if they didnt have things done right. one thing that freaks me out the most is the shower. not that i think people will mess with me or anything....i mean there has to rules or something....idunno, i just want to prepared when i go without having watch other people.

Every "fresh meat" always seems to piss the whole tank off when they mess up count. Once the CO calls for count and you see everyone else start to line up automatically begin to ask for last names and fit yourself in in alphabetically order. Most tanks especially one filled with people that have already been there a while and have that sucky attitude tend to not try to help you fit in line for count so when the CO gets all mad because the count line is not in order you look and feel stupid. When using the shower make sure you have on slippers (shower shoes). The showers are NASTY!

Best advice I can give you is just keep quiet and keep to yourself. Harris County is HELL but you will survive it. I you have people who can visit you everyday, it helps.
