My guy called me yesterday and asked if there was anyway to find out if any group or company that donates or helps with Native American groups in prison. He said that their drum broke and they talked about making another one...but what they need cost about $95.00 to their knowledge. He asked if I could look on the internet for anyone who helps or might offer a discount. I have no idea where to start on that. Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!!!

Go to http://www.powwows.com and post a plea for help there. You just might get someone to help with that. I'll see what else I can come up with, too. Try contacting some of the tribes in his area, too, and see if they can help. It doesn't have to be his tribe. Most tribes will have Elders willing to reach out to any Native Americans in prison.

You're welcome. I always have a special place in my heart for these prisoners, as you probably know. I hope you get some response, and if you need to find info on contacting the tribes, try http://www.500nations.com and also http://www.gatheringofnations.com might have information useful to you as to how to contact tribal offices.

this can often be resolved by talking to the american Indian spiritual advisor at the ironhouse they are at,if there is one.

Well the casino money are spent in a very different way and I could have written a entire book on it and I doubt that any casino tribes would donate and there are many of the people who are against gaming and wouldnt accept any funding coming the way. But the idea in general is good. I would once more get people on alert when it comes to monetary issues regarding inmates unless one know the person well because there is so many scams running as we speak taking advantage of the American Indian people. To go through the spiritual advisor whose tribe/nation approve of would always be the best and not to forget approriate way.

And he is in South Dakota. AND about the money issue, discuss with him and Im sure you will get somewhere with even an offering. HE is a great man, and is honorable to those in need.
