When he was given documents to sign before he was deported,( probably 30 seconds before they did it) there are I believe 3 or 4 different time frames and sentences mentioned. Possible reentry after anytime after 3-8 years, and there is the box, that they checked for my husband (anyone who commits and aggrivated felony, is automatically deported forever, no chance of rentry) That is the worst of the whole situation for all of us, our kids did nothing but due to federal law anyone who is convicted of committing an aggravated felony, is deported it doesn{t matter who they are, or if they have family, or if they are permanant residents, immigration just fights to have perm. resd. finish their sentences then go to court and deport them. We personally found out the information and opted to fight to have him deported before he finished his sentence, and transfered to his home, Mexico. Systems in other place can sometimes be better or worse, in our case Mexico(and the hearts of Mexico) has saved my marriage. Once he was moved, we could spend the night one day a week together(lock down in a little motel room) and you can bring them almost any kind of food and they are free to cook, whatever they want. One warning, I left the country first, to force immigration to deport him, and now he is out and he wants to go back, to the us, we don{t even understand, but because he was isolated (in jail) and we wern{t, he finds himself a stranger in a strange land..... needless to say, I am going to check into the chances of the children of deported fathers, filing a lawsuit of some sort, because there are soooooooo many of us
Luck to you
