My husband was there for a few months. It's a min/med facility and the two are kept seperated for the most part. Visiting there isn't as bad as I had imagined it would be. You sign in at the front desk then sit and wait a few minutes until they call your name. Then you go thru a metal detector, stand in line with about 10 other visitors and get walked to the visiting area. You are allowed to take in 5 photos per visitor and up to $10 in change in a clear plastic bag. Have you done a search for either eoci or the odoc? You can look up rules for sending and receiving mail and visitation. I don't know what kind of info you were looking for. Oh FYI, Oregon appears to have a nasty habit of shifting inmates around every few months for no apparent reason so your friend may not be there for his full sentence.

They do forward the mail, though, so letters do reach them if they're moved.

It is nice that the mail gets forwarded when an inmate is transfered, but it's a pain in the you know what when you've driven 6 hours with a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old screaming at each other in the backseat to visit someone, only to be told they were moved earlier that day and no, we cannot tell you where to.

Toddsbride...

Are you in Portland? I have a cousin at EOCI and I'm on his visit list, but I have never been there to see him. If you want a ride companion, let me know. We could split gas money or something.

Be well,
Heather :)
