Re North CTF: IMPORTANT - any info

I received 2 calls from the streets today (legitimate acquaintances) saying there is a rumor that my husband passed - I called Soledad and there's nothing in the computers to show anything is wrong with him. I also spoke with the medical that does death certificates and they have no record either. So I am pretty sure its not true but I have not heard from him for over a week. PLEASE can anyone that gets a call from someone on North verify that no black passed on North in the past few days.

I haven't got a call since Thursday. I was hoping to get a letter today to see what's going on. I pray that everything is o.k with your husband

You might try calling the coroners office for the county. They would be able to tell you if it's true. The not knowing is horrible. You are in my prayers.

I hope and pray nothing is wrong!!! Please call the prison and ask to speak to the clergy, or a priest. Tell him what is going on and he should be able to check it out for you. I had a situation, and the priest at my sons prison helped me. Good luck, and I hope all is well, God Bless.

thanks for the suggestions - I'll do that today. I'm on his notification list so I would think I would have been contacted - but we know prisons. I feel pretty confident its not true but I still want a definitive answer. I'll let everyone know what happens.

AGAIN: if anyone gets a telephone call from North CTF PLEASE ask if a black about 45 years old passed away in the last week.

Appreciate everyone's help - I'll leave a message on how it turns out. Part of me is also concerned about how or why a rumor like that would start so I want my husband to know about it.

Thank you to the people who replied. I confirmed this morning with the prison that he is OK. I actually started to receive a couple of sympathy cards yesterday - so unfortunately some close friends of his think something happened to him. I received some info that it may have been someone with a similar nickname, a youngster like "lil___g" or "baby ___". that has his same name.

I am so glad that it was not your loved one. My heart goes out to his family. I can only imagine the nightmare you have been going thru not knowing. Hearing yours and MrsJuans stories tells us there needs to be a better system in place for getting info about our loved ones in times of crisis.

If I really thought it was true I would have been up there! I am on his notification so I assume I would be notified first. Just when you hear something like that you still worry that somehow the process isn't working. If the prison wasn't on lockdown then someone who is getting phone calls could check - but of course they are on lockdown again!! Unfortunately my husband does not get night calls so it makes it even more difficult and he has no idea this has happened. Thanks again to everyone.
