I am hoping someone can help me...
My brother committed suicide at FDC Milan on 1/5/2008. Does anyone know of a suicide survivor support group that caters to prisoner's families? Its so hard to explain the suicide but I don't want others to judge him based on where it happened. That will not help us in our grieving process.
Any help is appreciated!

I am so sorry for your loss.
My brother also committed suicide while incarcerated in Arizona on 8/24/06.
I don't know about a suicide survivor support group that caters to prisoner's families, but I do know about the following suicide survivor support group.

Also, while you are there, please check out the following

Again, I am sorry for your loss.

:broken: I am sorry for your loss. I loss my fiance May 4th, 07 he also took his life. He had paroled three years early. He had been in most of his life and he couldn't work because he was sick. He said, I have no friends , but in there I was someone. There isn't a day, I don't think about him.

Thank you all for your kind words! I have been hard pressed to find other families that have suffered the loss of a loved one in prison to suicide.
Each of our precious family members were individuals - living, breathing, feeling people that made a mistake. I'm so broken up over how society likes to hide their problems in a cell instead of taking the responsibility to rehabilitate.
Although it is too late for my brother...there is another Jay out there. I don't want it to happen to someone else.
