For anyone interested, here are some great links to websites that are all about Altered Art :)
Altered art is all about recycling old and transforming it into new art
via paint, stencilling, collage etc..
http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/newstuff.html
one of the best sites I have seen - they offer all kinds of links to artists works, plus they offer how-to's - just follow the links..
http://www.go-make-art.com/index.htm
neat site with a free downloadable e-magazine- their first one(the rest you pay for)- they offer lots of instructions, etc...
http://www.altered-art.net/altered-art.html
also good- lots of how-to's and some pic's
http://www.gomakesomething.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
all I can say is Lisa Vollrath rocks! This woman has several sites, this one is FREE and she offers tons of how-to's to get started in various projects; there is a forum, + there are free downloadables to do some stuff on your own.... also one of my favorites to visit...
and also Google is your friend-key words to google:
Altered Art (for the whole realm)
Altered Journals (you can see lots of altered books)
Artist Trading Cards (ATC's specifically)
Artist Journals (to get a look see into what an Artist puts int heir journal- and very few of them write- many paint or do collage or mixed-media stuff)
I got into Altered art because, while I love painting outright- there are lots of things I like doing with paper/scissors/glue...
Anyways, hope you all like the links- and once you get into them, I'll warn you, you may not ever get back out of some of them- especially ARt E Zine- they are simply mind-bogling to look through!
also- if you have any great links that aren't listed,
lemme know... Thanks!
