I've heard that anything over 7 years sends you to leavenworth. Is this true?

Welcome to the forum. Anything over 5 is a sure indicator for Leavenworth, so you can expect he'll go there. That's where I served the majority of my time. If he's an Officer, he's going there no matter what. I know this is a difficult time for you.

Welcome to PTO! It definitely is a wonderful site to find information, support and understanding. Your questions will find answers and your frustrations can be vented to understanding ears (and shoulders, if need be!). Glad you found us. If there's anything specific you want to know, browse the postings, or just ask the question. I've been coming here for almost 6 years now and I can say that PTO has helped me immensely. Can't say this road gets any better, but it does get easier.

Sentences under 5 years are normally done at the Brigs or RCFs. I have known several inmates between 5-10 that have finished their sentence at the Brigs and RCFs as well. 10 years or more will go to Fort Leavenworth.
