Hi - I'm traveling to Grady (where Varner and Cummins are) on 10/31 (this friday). I'll be by myself, and thought I'd stay in Malvern. Can anyone recommend a clean (drug free, crime free - i-won't-be-afraid-to-sleep-under-the-covers) type motel?

Super8 is scary to me, Best Western type ok, hampton inn type preferred. I know they don't have those there. All I see is the Economy Inn, Budget Inn, Coston Motel, and Super8. Does anyone know of something else? Maybe I shouldn't stay in Malvern? Maybe the "we're cheap!" in the name shouldn't scare me off, and maybe Coston Motel shouldn't make me wonder if that's where they filmed Psycho :D
Help?

Hi Juliwaits,
I have to ask why are you staying in Malvern? Its a long way to Cummins from there. What about staying in Pine Bluff its much closer to Cummins. Malvern is four counties away from Cummins. Seems like a trek to me. I haven't been down there, but I will be going in Dec. Have you tried doing a search on yahoo for a motel or hotel in the area?

I'm traveling from Dallas. From what i've seen in pine bluff, i would NOT stay there.

Your more than welcome, glad I could be of help.
And let me know how things are there after your trip. Like I said, if my sweetie is still in Cummins come December I'll be making the trip and would like to know what to expect, and if there is a "decent" place closer to Cummins to stay as I'll be making the trip from northern ark.
Thanks, have a safe trip and a great visit with your sweetie.

In case anyone's interested, I've found Arkadelphia to be the best place to stay. It's still a 1.5 hour trip to Cummins, but I'm coming from Dallas area. Malvern was a strange strange little town! (my impression while driving thru it) So I'm really glad I didn't stay there. There was a decent motel there though, i think it was the super8 - looked pretty good.
