We finally got our visit today, and it was wonderful!!!!! Those two hours flew by! We held hands the entire time, and I gave him several smooches at the end (no 'real' romantic ones though :( ), oh well, I'm grateful for what I got. The CO's were super nice and didnt say anything when we got a few extra hugs and kisses. Of course if they would have said something to us, they would have had to say something to everyone there. Nobody wanted to let their loved one go! The hardest part was leaving him there (of course it probably would have been harder if I would have tried to take him with me :blah: ). The whole experience was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm just SO happy, that I thought I'd share.

YEAH! :yay: I'm so happy to hear your visit went well! It's always better than anticipated, right? So many times people play all the worse scenarios over & over in their mind...get all worked up...only to find their visit to be WAY better than they could ever imagine. I know what you mean about wanting to wisk him away with you! :p If they'd just let my baby walk out the gates with me...I could assure them, they'd NEVER have to worry about seeing his face behind bars again! He'd be in MY personal lock down! LOL So happy for the both of you! I bet you're already planning your next visit, right? ;)

Hey I was there that day as well. Of course that wasn't my first time going. It was however the first time I kissed him the way I wanted to.I had been scared all the other times.

Awe MsRossi...Woo-hoo...gettin' some GOOD sugar!
I've never been scared...but more nervous that we'll get repremanded. I haven't ever been clear on their definition of a kiss. I know one thing though, I'm going to get while the gettin's good!

Our visit started at 9:30 (well it was supposed to). What time were you there MsRossi?

I dont think there was anyone there that was taking pics. Of course, I only had eyes for my honey, so I wouldnt have noticed if they would have had people stand on our table to pose for the pics!

I was there at 9:30. Actually I was there at like 8:46, we made really good time since no one was on their way to work. There wasn't a person their taking pictures, there hasn't been since I have been going (about 5 months). As far as the kissing is concerned, they don't really mind that I don't think. We have held hands the whole time and this was the first time we really kissed.

I'll bet that you were the lady that I talked to after visitation was over. I am that white girl that lives near huntsville. I told you that we ought to carpool because it took around 80.00 round trip for me to go see him. You know, after we left visitation Tuesday, they transferred my man on Wednesday morning. He is at Limestone now. YEAH!!!!! Did your BF get transferred, or is he still at Kilby?

I am that lady. Congrats on him being transferred. :-) He is still at Kilby and he will be there for a while. That is the only rotten thing about it. I see many family's come and go but we still have to be there.

Thank you! I'm sorry that you loved one is still there. Maybe soon he can be home with you, or at least be closer to you. Unless mine's appeal goes through or his conviction goes through, I've got long haul. He was sentenced 25 years and will have to serve 85%. :(

Yeah. He has 20 years and I don't really know how many years he has to serve. Fourtunatly, he has already done like 3 or 4 years. I will take him being anywhere as long as the visitations aren't just once a month like they are now, and 2 hours really isn't enough time.

We have desperately been trying to get a transfer to Limestone! I've read where SO MANY are being trasferred there. Tell me....WHAT DOES IT TAKE????? LOL. My guy has a perfect record...in Honor Dorm, works, goes to classes...EVERYTHING. *Sigh. He told me the ones that are being transferred from where he is...are the ones that are always "acting up". I hate to see him act a damn fool just to get out of there. I tell him to be patient & keep doing what he's suppose to be doing...it'll pay off in the long run.

Dont worry. I will pay off in the end. If there is anything I have learned so far it is patience. I am the worlds worst when it comes to patience. I always have been impatient.

Well, just tell your man that he, and anyone else who wants to get out of there need to fill out a grievance report at anything they think is unfair. They need to fill them out and send them to the warden all at the same time. My fiance's situation was a little bit different though. He is in PC and from what he understood, they only transferred then 1-2 times a year. At Kilby right before he was transferred he told me that he hadnt been outside in 3 weeks! So, anytime that they felt that their rights were being violated or ignored all of the guys filled out a grievance report and sent it to the warden, not the captain. The captain told them that he was going to get them out of there right after the first of the year (I think they were getting on his nerves). Sure enough Jan 2 all 12 of the guys in PC were transferred to Limestone. Just tell him to try that. That way he doesnt have to do anything bad that could send him to the hole or add more time to his sentence. They cant get in trouble for filling out grievance reports.

Thank you so much for the information. We were beginning to get really discouraged! Like I said, he's done EVERYTHING that's expected (& then some). Each time he goes up for progress review...he gets the run around..."We'll see in sixth months". Six months later, "We can't put in a request until your yearly review". We were like what??? That's not what he was told! At his yearly, "Maybe at your next review". This has been going on for 2 yrs. now. In between the reviews...his classification officer all but promised him he WOULD be going. They've transferred 2 bus loads out in the past 3 or 4 months already. Sigh. That's just like in watching the Lock Up Extended Stay program...there was an inmate (I know his girlfriend...no disrespect intended towards him with this statment...just pointing out)...who was very frustrated & went off. The Warden "promised" him a transfer if he'd attend an anger management program & chill out a little. My guy has taken EVERY program available...has never went off...never been in lock up...nothing. Another thing, when he first went into the system...they recomended (as part of his sentence) to take the SAP program. They DON'T even offer it where he is! They DO where he's wanting to transfer! How is he suppose to do what's REQUIRED of him (with the SAP class) if it's not even available?
Didn't mean to rant....it just really erks me! I will let him know what you said to try...& get on it immediately. He comes back up for review in Feb.
I'll keep you posted.
