I have a neighbor who's baby's father is in the same prison that Erskine is in and she told me that he was wrote up for everything ranging from masturbation to being erect out of his room, and the list goes on. He gets out of lockup im MARCH, Has been in there for the last 6 months, and when he gets out, he's getting shipped to a level 3 yard! Erskine told me that he's barely escaped getting wrote up himself a few times. But not for the stuff the other dude was wrote up for.Its like when Major Bruton is off( thats the guy who runs things) the CO's take over and do whatever they want! I think that is so unfair!

The rules are stupid and sometimes when one thinks they have power, it goes straight to their head and common sense goes out the window.

At the first prison where my husband was - if a guy gets caught masturbating, he's given pink clothes to wear so everybody knows.

Don't even get me started on this topic right now!! I know, it just gets ridiculous....
But... I am glad JD isn't in that place right now, or I know he would ALWAYS be in trouble... :)

Masturbating is called "Sexual mutilation" here in a charge if you are written up for it. I heard this in my last conjugal visit and laughed so hard i fell off the couch.
I believe my reply upon hearing this was" then WHAT would they call what we have been up to, honey?"

Geez....if masturbation is a crime...but they look the other way when it comes to prison rape....no wonder all of this makes me think I am the crazy one sometimes!! Here in Kentucky, some of the gaurds have been known to bring makeup etc in to the "girls". Even though as it is said.."their house, their rules"...I still get angry when I hear nonsense like this!!!!

This whole bizarre idea that mastrubation is "sexual mutilation" just made my jaw drop when my man told me about it - the same definition applies where he's at, and if they get caught - it's a major infraction and 90 days are added to their sentence for each "offense". Gees, I wonder how many of the prison guards, management etc., perfom sexual mutilation??? (I'm sure none of them do!!)

this is off the masturbation topic, but....one of the DUMBEST rules i have run into is this one:

my friend MJ is at an institution here in NC. before i can send him any books, he has to fill out a form indicating the name, author, and book description, and tell the institution where the book will be coming from. this form has to be approved by 2 different people! all over a book!

PS: speaking of masturbation :D anyone stupid enough to think men can spend years and years and years behind bars without masturbating is, simply put, a dumbass!!!

The whole prison system is so full of shit.At Calipatria you have to facing the dumb CO's at all times it makes me so much more uncomfotable to be there.They pick at every little thing you try and do to your man.

I just read this post also, and I gotta say that they should be damn happy these guys ARE masturbating! I mean, they are locked up all day, every day, with a bunch of men, and it's 100 degrees outside and in. I would think letting these guys have a "release" in a natural way would maybe curb a little of the violence that does go on. I mean, we all know sex is a stress reliever right? And, being on the "outside", I need that stress reliever! So, I am sure they need it doubly in there. What is the big deal? I mean, yea, don't whip it around in front of everybody, but I am sure the majority of the guys don't! Ridiculous rule. The rule I live by when dealing with the DOC is simple..."The opposite of everything IS true!!!" Whatever you believe is commonsense, rational decision making, "make-sense" thinking...welll, just throw that out the window and think in the totally opposite direction. That way you will rarely be surprised by almost everything the DOC does.

That is rediculous! I'm sure he wasn't wacking it out in the open where everyone could see him. If the CO's decided to look in on him thats their problem, he's in his own cell. OMG these prisons are a frigging trip. I'm gonna ask Kraig if thats what it's like where he's at. Don't they realize it's hard enough on these men? (excuse the pun)

OMG.. being written up for materbating? I've seen and heard alot about prison and such.. but i believe that this one takes the cake!
